General Safety Guidelines
1. Lighters - Keep lighters away from the workspace unless actively in use.
2. Gas Cylinders - When replacing a gas cylinder, ensure the connections are tightly secured with tape.
3. Gas Alert - If you smell gas, inform a staff member immediately.
4. No Drugs or Alcohol - The use of drugs or alcohol is strictly prohibited to ensure safety around equipment, tools, and open flames.
5. No Headphones - Stay aware of your surroundings; headphones are not allowed during work.
6. Eye Protection - Wear appropriate eye protection as directed.
7. Stay Alert - Keep your focus on the task and think through each procedure before starting.
8. Avoid Burns - Be cautious around heated equipment, open flames, and hot surfaces to prevent burns. Take extra care with glass that has been recently heated—it may still retain high temperatures even after losing its red-hot glow.
9. Consider Others - Be mindful of others' safety. If you notice someone violating safety rules, caution them respectfully or alert Studio staff.
10. Dress Safely - Follow the clothing requirements to ensure safe and appropriate attire.
What to Wear
1. Clothing - Wear all-natural fiber clothing (e.g., cotton, linen, wool). Avoid nylon, polyester, spandex, or other synthetics as they are not safe around open flames.
2. Temperature - The studio environment can range from very cold to very hot, so wearing layers is highly recommended.
3. Footwear - Closed-toe shoes are required. Flip-flops, sandals, slip-ons, or any open-toed shoes are strictly prohibited.
4. Pants - Long pants are mandatory. Shorts and skirts are not recommended. If you must wear shorts, please request fire-resistant fabric to cover your legs.
5. Glasses - Bring your prescription or reading glasses if needed to ensure you can work comfortably.
6. Hair - Long hair must be tied back securely for safety.
7. Safety Gear - Additional safety gear will be provided as needed, depending on the specific requirements of your class or activity.
